Ascension Health Information Services (AHIS) is seeking a Network Manager . You will be responsible for managing all Network domain processes, resources, and the daily performance and availability of the organizations network along with secure connectivity to external entities. This includes approval authority for most network-related activities, coordination with managers in other domains, and budgeting activities.
The Network Manager has demonstrated technical expertise, a record of successful projects and satisfied clients, an ability to understand and articulate customer needs, and a history of taking initiative.
This position is with Ascension Information Services and is located at Nashville, with responsibility for St Thomas, Middle Tennessee Medical Center and Baptist facilities.
### QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Minimum of six years relevant network and management experience
Experience in large enterprise network with high availability requirements
Experience within or across network vendor technologies with expert level knowledge in one or more network vendor technologies (e.g. Cisco, Nortel, etc.)
Must have demonstrated technical leadership, a record of successful projects, and satisfied clients
Ability to take on-call duties and travel 20%
Preferred:
Bachelors Degree in computer/information sciences, mathematics, business/MIS or related field from an accredited college; Masters Degree desirable
CCNP, CCDP, CCIE or equivalent certifications
Experience with one or more network configuration management platforms
Experience with one or more address management platforms
Expert level understanding of DNS and DHCP
### RESPONSIBILITIES
The Network Manager will:
Schedule the installation of network devices, software/firmware patches, updates, repairs, and new releases/upgrades.
Prioritize and manage resource allocations.
Monitor, control, and manage recovery from any network attack or intrusion.
Coordinate installation of all data circuits.
Maintain warranty and/ or support contract documentation for network hardware and software components.
Manage and oversee third party performance, where such third party is providing warranty services, including requesting service and support when needed and monitoring performance and completion.
Approve changes to improve the network support process.
Approve modifications to improve performance.
Approve changes based on bandwidth consumption and trends.
Approve configuration changes.
Approve network changes.
Audit existing hardware, firmware, and software for standards conformance.
May act as a project manager on assigned projects
