Position Description
AIG has an opportunity for a Consumer Affairs Analyst position in the Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory Department, a recent recipient of the New York Law Journal's Outstanding Legal Department award. This job is located in Nashville, TN.
The responsibility of the Consumer Affairs Analyst is to successfully resolve grievances and Department of Insurance inquiries regarding Life and Retirement insurance policies. The Consumer Affairs Analyst uses investigative, verbal, analytical and written communication skills to effectively resolve a broad range of customer cases. Consumer Affairs Analysts must use time effectively and work with varying levels of management across the AIG Life and Retirement division. Organizational Structure:
The Consumer Affairs department is a part of the AIG division that distributes Life Insurance, Annuity and Group Retirement products. This department is responsible for regulatory compliance across all 50 states and United States territories, and associated Departments of Insurances. This role is part of a team that supports the AIG Life and Retirement Chief Compliance Officer.
Performance Objectives:
Analyzes, investigates, and develops written responses to verbal and written grievances received from customers, regulators, and attorneys.
Investigates the grievance by researching the situation that led to the grievance and by gathering all pertinent information and documentation needed to resolve the grievance.
Prepares release agreements that outline the terms and agreement of the resolution as it applies to the company and the complainant.
Provides a formal written response which clearly and professionally states the company's position to the grievance within the time frame required by company policy and applicable state requirements.
Develops and understands the regulatory requirements under the Department of Insurance within each state.
Performs the necessary research and responds to regulatory inquiries in the time allowed.
Position Requirements
The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
Two plus years of experience within a compliance and/or Insurance related function in a corporate environment preferred.
Must have excellent client service orientation.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Maintain strong customer service within a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
Good technical knowledge of MS Office.
Bachelor's degree preferred
