Position Purpose
Support youth in building their writing, presentation, and leadership skills through creative writing, songwriting, and spoken word poetry. See
Job Function
In conjunction with Southern Word team, plan, execute, and evaluate writing workshops, residencies, shows, and slams for youth in schools and at community organizations.

Support logistical and administrative execution of workshops, shows, and poetry slams.
Job Function
Support marketing efforts both on-line and as street team.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
This is an off-campus position and applicants MUST have Federal Work Study and reliable means of transportation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to effectively engage and relate to youth. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Responsive over e-mail. Ability to manage multiple college and work commitments. Competency in multi-media software a plus.
Additional Information
This is an off-campus community service position. Only students who have Federal Work-Study through Student Financial Services are eligible for this position.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
