Position Purpose
Belmont University is seeking student tutors for the Writing Center.
Job Function
Provide writing and composition tutoring services for Belmont students.
Light office work.
Promote the vision and mission of the Belmont Learning Centers in class visits and small events.
Tutor up to 10 hours/ week per semester
Keep an accurate record of tutoring sessions
Abide by all relevant University and/or departmental procedures and policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Occasionally requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and climbing, reaching both high and low. Frequently requires walking and balancing. Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly, hearing conversations, hearing (with acuity), seeing near and far with depth perception and color vision.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Applicants must have a strong background in writing.
Applicants must be able to teach students development, organization, grammar, mechanics, and skills in research and documentation.
Strong interpersonal skills a must.
Applicants must be able to adapt to the different learning styles of the Belmont student base.
Applicants must have an awareness of personal study methods.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
