Our client is hiring a hands-on Quality Engineer to assist the plant in developing into a successful and profitable division of a multi-billion dollar company. You must have a desire to learn the business, understand the production process by walking the floor, and provide leadership in production meetings.
You will be responsible for interfacing with both internal and external customers, to ensure that quality expectations are met. You will be expected to adopt a common sense approach to identify and address problems and control weaknesses, and ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
Other duties include:
troubleshooting root cause analysis, SPC data analysis, implementation and maintaining up to date documentations related to APQP documentation;
Conducting and where necessary, leading in the improvement of capability studies and gauge R & R analysis;
Creating quality documents in compliance with the company's quality system manual and quality system standards;
Participating and coordinating Team Oriented Problem Solving (corrective and preventive actions);
Participating and coordinating Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP);
Coordinating PPAP submissions within specified timeframes;
Reviewing and making recommendations for the disposition of non-conforming/suspect products in a timely manner and ensure formal corrective actions are answered within customers' guidelines;
Assisting in variability reduction, process improvement and continuous improvement;
Notifying internal and external customers of potential problems and making recommendations for resolutions;
Contributing and participating in the Quality System and the Environmental System to meet customer requirements.
Job Requirements
Community College courses in a Quality-related discipline;
Minimum 3-4 years'experience in a similar role;
Thorough knowledge of blue print reading and interpretation of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing;
Proficient in the understanding and use of Statistical Process Control (SPC), stamping and welding processes;
Proficient in the use of measuring equipment (ie venires, micrometer, height gauges, profile projector, etc.);
Familiar with TS16949/ISO14001 quality and environmental management standards an asset;
Proficient in Microsoft Office;
High level of time management.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
