0 Full-time 8 hours ago Full Job Description The Clinical Informatics Analyst is responsible for supporting clinical data stewardship through the permissible use of healthcare data in various research and development initiatives including improving clinical data management and operations under the Clinical Data Stewardship department of the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) division at Meharry Medical College (MMC).
Focused on core data technologies with strong ties to application areas across campus, the EDA division collects, stores, analyzes, governs, and stewards data to drive optimal outcomes for the entire Meharry Medical College enterprise which comprises the Academic enterprise, the Business enterprise, the Clinical enterprise, and the Research enterprise.
This role is responsible for interacting and understanding the clinical processes and Clinical Data warehouse systems to support data analysis, EHR data ecosystem analysis reports development, and clinical informatics.
The Clinical Informatics Analyst will collaborate with EDA Data Infrastructure and Analytics teams and with clinical experts to validate the data stored in EDA's data ecosystem and applications for data quality, integrity, and various data use requests for clinical studies, trials, and data extraction/sharing.
The Clinical Information Analyst will create and maintain documentation for Clinical Data Quality Measures, in alignment with EDA specifications.
This role will also work closely with clinical subject matter experts to document the most appropriate sources for clinical Data Quality metrics.
The Clinical Informatics Analyst should demonstrate an understanding of the complexities and interactions of clinician workflows, healthcare IT systems, interfaces, and mappings to EHR stored in the data warehouse.
Overall, the Clinical Information Analyst is a subject matter expert who assists with planning, design, development, testing, end-user training, implementation support, and adoption of Electronic Health Records to Meharry's clinical data warehouse to achieve data quality and integrity.
The Clinical Information Analyst will work closely with data analysts and development teams to support and validate clinical data sources for clinical data quality measures and clinical data initiatives as directed.
Daily Operations Support clinical data stewardship by reviewing the requirements of the users and help developers in creating databases for specific use cases including data sharing and health information exchange, clinical trials, or studies.
Provide expertise in clinical workflow and information management systems to support analysis, design, selection, configuration, implementation, testing, data mapping, and development of the clinical Data ETL Process for specific use case.
Responsible for managing issues that may impact the expected outcomes from clinical data plans, workflow processes, extraction processes, or integrity of reporting.
Provide technical support in development and management of health information systems that support the collection, sharing, standardization, and integration of healthcare data.
Support the design of clinical data processes in conjunction with the development, implementation, optimization, and evaluation of Clinical Data Warehouses and data sharing.
Run data quality and integrity reports frequently and interpret data to find issues and solutions.
Utilize healthcare operation and clinical care discipline-specific knowledge to improve the Clinical Meharry Enterprise Data Quality.
Analyze policies and procedures and provide consultation on developments in Enterprise Data Ecosystem.
Analyze the development, implementation, and evaluation of procedures and systems in medical records Serve as Subject Matter Expert on any request for EHR context, Content, and mappings.
Implement National and international standards for clinical documentation and terminology to enable interoperability.
Understand and commit to the vision and established plans for Enterprise Data Warehouse content standards, and additional clinical EHR standards, especially when evaluating documentation elements for required data collection.
Manage, track, and document specifications for both internal and external reporting.
Responsible for analysis and impact of outcomes and engaging in the process of knowledge discovery under clinical data stewardship.
Facilitates bi-directional communication and collaboration of multiple disciplines within corporate departments, divisions, and facility leaders.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in evaluating projects and determining key benchmarks for use in subsequent evaluations Be able to identify clinical practice workflow and process issues and concerns and provide leadership and guidance to define system and process requirements that will optimize system performance and technology utilization by clinical practitioners.
Assists other health care professionals in data interpretation and use Analyzes the success and quality of health care initiatives Participate in creating test scenarios and conducting user acceptance testing.
Participate in other projects pertaining to organizational goals and strategies and regulatory requirements - both in consultative and project lead roles.

Experience with analytics/informatics in a data warehouse environment using SQL and/or SAS for development of reports and data management.
Working experience or knowledge of health care systems, any EHR system, workflow, functions, terminology and standard ICD, LOINC, and CPT coding systems is highly desirable.
Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL/Python/SAS/R, etc.
Experience or knowledge with healthcare data exchange platforms and data aggregation tools and healthcare interoperability and messaging standards, including but not limited to HL7 2.

x, HL7 FHIR, IHE integration profiles.
Working experience or knowledge of Azure or any Cloud Environments.
Working experience on working with SQL Server, and Windows Environments.
Required Experience Master's degree in Biomedical Informatics, informatics, healthcare IT, nursing, or data science or a related field.
Or A Bachelor's degree with at least 3-5 years of experience in the healthcare industry in clinical informatics or analytics experience are required.
Experience caring for the inpatient population, outpatient population, hospital operations, and/or clinical informatics.
Analytical experience with clinical data and understanding of long-term care clinical terminology Preferred to have previous Meditech analyst experience.
Experience with EHRs (eClinicalWorks, Paragon, Axium, etc.
) documentation and ordering functionality & content preferred.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
