Summary:
Encourage the entire Abe's Garden team to provide engaging opportunities for all residents and families.
Plan, organize, and lead scheduled engagement opportunities for Abe's Garden residents.
Mentor care partners in leading engaging activities.
Maintain supplies in orderly fashion.
Communicate with Supervisor and peers to provide positive outcomes for residents.
Prioritize and manage time effectively.
Develop monthly engagement calendars for Abe's Garden residents.
ROLES AND
Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and lead programming in all areas of Abe's Garden facility, with the assistance of other staff and peers.
Coach, teach, and mentor Care Partners to effectively lead engagements.
Provides activity partnerships with residents.
Develop and lead engagements for residents.
Document accurate resident participation on Vorro Health and/ or other EMRs.
Communicate directly to peers, Supervisors, and Directors regarding resident's observed actions that might be exceptional either positively or negatively for the resident.
Assist with research for new engagement opportunities and the implementation of new engagements to find the best practices for resident care.
Direct and guide volunteers to assist with community programming.
Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator by explaining needs and providing feedback.
As a team, develop and implement monthly engagement calendars, per resident interests and choices.
Identify items needed to provide scheduled activities, store, organize, gather materials, and implement activity programs planned.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
Prior experience with recreational planning for people with Dementia required.
Experience with recreational planning in an Assisted Living or Senior Center preferred.
Special education experience a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to sit / stand for 8 hours.
Must possess a complimentary voice and appropriate body language for senior populations.
Walking, bending, light lifting up to 50 lbs.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
