Who we are and what we do:
The mission of the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) is to operate safe and secure prisons and provide effective community supervision in order to enhance public safety.
The department manages and operates or oversees 14 state prisons housing approximately 21,000 offenders.
In addition, the department supervises some 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community correction and operates six Day Reporting/Community Resource Centers across the state.
The department is fully accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA).
How you make a difference in this role:
The Administrative Services Assistant 4 is a member of the Tennessee Department of Correction's Administrative Support team.
This unit is responsible for supporting the state's 14 state prisons and 16 district offices.
This position is responsible for coordinating the inventory processes at each site including monthly, quarterly, and annual audits for capital and non-capital assets.
There are approximately 20,000 assets tracked by the department and over a thousand wireless devices.
The position is a supervisory position that includes an Administrative Services Assistant 2 that assists with assets and a Probation/Parole Program Specialist that orders and maintains all wireless devices.
Key
Responsibilities:
Manage the monthly inventory samples and keep complete records of the process.
Coordinate and prepare reports for Central Office assets.
Surplus assets when they are ready for retirement in the Edison system and provide assistance to the other sites as needed to surplus assets.
Maintain communication with all sites and provide training when needed or required.
Assist or direct training to all new hires in the property section at each site.
Maintain accurate and current records in the inventory system for Central Office.
Required
Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to substantial (five or more years of) full-time varied increasingly responsible professional correctional, inventory, and supervisory experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
