DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT DIVISION, DAVIDSON COUNTY Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS (Education must be from an accredited institution.
) A bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, management, public relations, design, marketing, or any other closely related field plus two years of experience in event planning or coordination.
Subsitution of Experience in lieu of Education:
Experience in event planning or coordination may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis up to four years.
OR Six years of experience in program management within a Talent Management program, event planning, or coordination with the State of TN or Learning and Leadership Development, specifcally.
Other Requirements Necessary Special
Qualifications:
Driver's License is required along with some in-state travel.

Summary AGENCY OVERVIEW AND PROGRAM FOCUS The State of Tennessee's Learning & Leadership Division creates and implements professional development opportunities, academies, conferences, and events across the enterprise to provide continued learning and development of current and future leaders within our organizations.
SUMMARY Under general direction, will design and deliver quality conferences and events hosted by the Learning & Leadership Development division or in partnership with individual agencies.
This classification will directly coordinate, organize, and implement a large variety of events across the enterprise to engage participants.
This classification will be the main stakeholder and leader in ensuring successful creation and deployment of said events while operating with average independence under the general direction of the Conference & Event Director.
Employees in this classification will be responsible for following through with a significant array of full-scale variables for events such as, but not limited to:
vender contracts, budgeting, securing keynote speakers, organizing catering/d cor, and location/facilitate arrangements.
Employees in this classification will be expected to travel to events.

Responsibilities Design and oversee the planning and implementation of all conferences, summits, special events, and leadership program orientations and graduations while maintaining aspects such as budget and timeline.
Research and recommend appropriate vendor options that represent the best combination of quality and cost for the audience level in attendance.
Responsible for continuous improvement by collaborating with key stakeholders to innovate and improve provided services and event quality.
Determine and organize event details, such as location/facilities, decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, attendees, special guests, equipment, promotional material, etc.
Prepare and maintain budgets for each conference and event while ensuring compliance with purchase order requests and state contracts, obtaining additional approvals as needed.
Research and recommend keynote speakers, initiate, and maintain contact, and ensure proper follow-through to maintain professional connections for future events.
Research and customize vendor platforms for proper use for State of Tennessee events, oversee all marketing efforts for each event including announcements, signage, participant guides, hand-outs, agendas, etc.
Coordinate event set up and break down, as well as during the events to assist with troubleshooting, questions, or other issues as they arise and maintain a back-up plan for issues that cannot be resolved.

Skilled in time management, priority setting, judgement and decision making, speaking in front of small and large audiences, basic mathematics, as well as active learning and listening.
Knowledgeable in administration and management, communications and media, and design as it pertains to events and announcements.
Comfortable around Executive Leadership, approachable, customer focused, patient, and capable of directing others.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
