The Department of General Services for the State of Tennessee is looking for just the right person to fill the role of Administrative Services Assistant and join our team.
The Administrative Services Assistant is a valued member of the Office of Administrative Services (OAS) within the Division of Administration.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing requisitions and purchase orders requested by the Health Facilities Commission (HFC), Sports Wagering Advisory Council (SWAC), Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions (TDFI), and divisions within the Department of General Services (DGS).
You will monitor payments and invoices, conduct research, analyze purchases to ensure they meet all department, state, and federal guidelines, and communicate with the various parties connected to these purchases.

Our primary customers are other State departments and agencies.
But we also serve vendors wishing to do business with the State and citizens and organizations interested in purchasing surplus government property.
DGS consists of five divisions:
Central Procurement Office (CPO), State of Tennessee Real Estate Management (STREAM), Vehicle and Asset Management (VAM), Document Solutions, and the Division of Administration.
As we proudly provide essential operational needs to all Tennessee State government agencies, we do so with a focus on reducing the administrative cost of government.
This ensures our citizens receive the care and service they deserve and permits more State resources to be directed toward vital programs and services for all Tennesseans.
The Division of Administration is one of five divisions within the Department of General Services.
In addition to strategy and culture, the division manages and supports the other divisions through various support business units that include the Office of Administrative Services, the Office of Communications, the Office of Financial Management, the Office of General Counsel, and the Office of Internal Audit.
DGS receives additional support through our HR and Talent Management business partners.
The Office of Administrative Services (OAS) provides internal procurement, payment and IT support, and external procurement support to small departments and agencies within Tennessee State Government.
OAS also provides ID Badging Services for State employees and manages State government employee and visitor parking in Downtown Nashville through the Parking Services Office.
Additionally, OAS provides state-wide conference center management of DGS-managed shared meeting spaces across the State through the Conference Center Office.
