The mission of the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) is to operate safe and secure prisons and provide effective community supervision in order to enhance public safety.
The department manages and operates or oversees 14 state prisons housing approximately 21,000 offenders.
In addition, the department supervises some 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community correction and operates six Day Reporting/Community Resource Centers across the state.
The department is fully accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA).
How you make a difference in this role:
This position reports to the Deputy Director for the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) Facilities, Planning and Construction (FPC).
FPC oversees TDOC's Capital Project program in collaboration with the Department of General Services (DGS), approximately $50-$60 million annually, FPC monitors construction contract Administration, Contract Monitoring, Departmental Compliance and Department Risk Assessment/Mitigation.
Key
Responsibilities:
Management of capital projects of complex difficulty in an Owner's Agent role through the full project lifecycle including initial planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
Project coordination with the in-house architectural/engineering design and consulting operations.
Assist the division director in the long-range planning, submittal, and approval of capital outlay requests, including their development with institution and central office leadership.
Maintains thorough knowledge of existing facilities, facility systems, department and State standards, policy, and procedures.
Performs analysis of and planning for appropriate resolution of facility issues related to building systems, facility infrastructure, and major maintenance projects.
Coordination and collaboration with facility maintenance personnel to ensure appropriate facility operational needs are met.
Minimum
Qualifications:
15 years of relevant design/construction experience in one of the following:
architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
Minimum 3-years' experience in a supervisory role in a related office setting.
Experience in reviewing technical drawings and specifications required.
Familiarity with prison, jail, or detention center operations helpful.
Experience working with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and construction project management systems.
Superior organization, problem solving and management skills.
Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
