08/16/2023 The TN Sports Wagering Council (SWC) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Administrative Coordinator.
The position offers the ability to work with a great management team and a diverse group of positions throughout SWC, as well as external customers.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Administration and will provide administrative support to senior level staff.
This opportunity is located at the SWC office in the William Snodgrass TN Tower, 312 Rosa L.
Parks Ave, Nashville, TN 37243 and will work at least 4 days a week in the office with the opportunity to work remotely one day a week (usually on Fridays, as office needs and schedules permit).
Preferred candidates will have a full working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and previous state experience.
Legislative experience is a plus.
Limited local travel may be required to meet the objectives of the department, including assisting with preparing for meetings, conferences, and other mission-oriented events.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Providing administrative support to the Executive Director and senior management Management of day-to-day logistical operations of the office, including scheduling meetings, reserving conference rooms, arranging parking, and ordering catering and supplies Serving as a liaison and customer service representative to the general public Receiving incoming calls to general line, taking messages, and routing correspondence Making telephone calls and setting appointments Preparing and editing correspondence, reports, and other documents Preparing and submitting expense reports and travel authorizations in Edison Making travel arrangements for the Council and senior staff Preparing and processing purchase orders and other procurement related items in Edison Filing paper documents; organizing and managing electronic documents and emails Making copies and preparing folders and other organizational documents as requested Preparing agenda packets and copies of documents for Council members Emailing monthly wagering reports to distribution list Updating social media accounts with wagering reports and SWC events Picking up and distributing mail Running official business errands as needed Assisting Assistant Director of Administration with communications with external state agencies Monitoring media reports regarding the SWC; distributing daily media compilation to SWC Monitoring and tracking of legislation that could impact the Agency Managing calendar of legislative activities; monitoring relevant committee hearings and reporting on actions taken Performing other duties as assigned Pursuant to the State of Tennessee's Workplace Discrimination and Harassment policy, the State is firmly committed to the principle of fair and equal employment opportunities for its citizens and strives to protect the rights and opportunities of all people to seek, obtain, and hold employment without being subjected to illegal discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
