The Department of General Services for the State of Tennessee is looking for just the right person to fill the role of Procurement and Contract Management Specialist and join our team.
The Procurement and Contract Management Specialist is responsible for executing procurement activities within an assigned portfolio of 8-12 statewide contracts for goods or services.
The Specialist manages the whole contract lifecycle from the development and implementation of the procurement strategy to the execution and management of the contract.
Specific activities include identifying agency needs, drafting and running the solicitation, managing and leading the state evaluation process, and conducting negotiations.
In addition, the Specialist will serve as the point person for ongoing supplier and contract management activities and will utilize problem-solving skills to ensure the contract satisfies the needs of internal and external stakeholders.

Our primary customers are other State departments and agencies.
But we also serve vendors wishing to do business with the State and citizens and organizations interested in purchasing surplus government property.
DGS consists of five divisions:
Central Procurement Office (CPO), State of Tennessee Real Estate Management (STREAM), Vehicle and Asset Management (VAM), Document Solutions, and the Division of Administration.

The Procurement and Contract Management position works in the Central Procurement Office (CPO).
CPO purchases goods and services for State departments and agencies.
CPO is also responsible for grants management, vendor relations, training of agency procurement professionals, and the administration of the State's commercial payment card program, as well as partnering with Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) to make sure the State is prepared for emergencies.
The Governor's Office of Diversity Business Enterprise is also operated out of this division.
