Required services may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performing duties in support of the Agency's mission which may include, but not all inclusive, typing, data entry, scanning, photocopying, preparing mailings, preparing spreadsheets, shipping, etc.
This position shall have proficiency in various computer hardware and software applications to manage work items including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Professional, PowerPoint and agency specific web applications and computer programs associated with the efficient operation of NRCS.

Assist NRCS personnel with researching, creating, editing presentations in various digital and hard copy formats.
Copy, print, and distribute to recipients as needed.
The contractor shall demonstrate the use of appropriate language to communicate ideas in words and print based on the audience and situation.
Possess the ability to coordinate and efficiently accomplish multiple tasks.
Seldom, if any, overnight travel will be required for this position.
Receiving incoming phone calls for the agency and greeting visitors in a professional manner, taking detailed messages and/or referring callers and visitors to the appropriate section or staff.
Signing for incoming deliveries, distribution of items and other clerical tasks associated with the State Office as needed.
Receives and controls mail, including receipt, processing, and transmitting of electronic mail.
Routes items directly to the appropriate staff member for action, assembles background information before routing mail to the supervisors, answers routine questions pertaining to NRCS, and notifies the supervisors of possible delays.
Organizes and maintains electronic and paper files and records, manuals, handbooks and other related materials, and applies disposition schedule.
The employee labels and organizes files and records.
Prepares and assembles reports for meetings.
Occasionally takes, transcribes, and makes distribution of minutes of the Leadership Team and other meetings.
Assembles and distributes informational material, presentations or reports as needed to the Leadership Team and others.
Reviewing materials prepared by NRCS staff for format and grammatical accuracy, typographical accuracy, and conformance to procedural style including technical reports, non-technical documents, memorandums, advisory notices and technical notes.
Preparing and drafting correspondence, reports, bulletins and visual presentations for signature and approval by NRCS personnel.
Coordinate, arrange and assist with preparation and setup for meetings, to also include scheduling conference rooms, video teleconferences and audio set up to prevent scheduling conflicts.
Participates in selected meetings.
Prepares AD-700s for purchase of supplies, services and equipment, place items in cart to assist purchase card holder with purchase of supplies as needed.
Providing backup support to the other administrative and program assistants in scheduling leave and breaks.
Working with other administrative and program assistants to coordinate coverage of the front desk duties while away from the office.
If authorized by National Headquarters, the administrative assistant will use online systems, such as WebTA, CONCUR, etc.
, in the performance of their duties.
This position requires occasional operation of a Government Owned Vehicle (GOV), 12FPC422P0098 Admin Support -TN Page 7 of 46 use of the Agency Vehicle Management Tool (VMT), and completion of all agency related driving requirements.
This position shall assist with vehicle maintenance coordination, to include getting oil changes, washes, and minor repairs/maintenance, etc.
Works within a team concept to develop and implement ways to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of the products and/or services provided to internal and external customers.
