The Medical Technologist, under supervision of the laboratory director / supervisor, the employee may process samples, perform HLA test procedures and analyzer maintenance functions, participate in quality control and quality assurance functions and if required, make preliminary result interpretations and other tasks as assigned.

Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours/week; 2nd shift:
2pm - 10:
30pm

Responsibilities

Employee provides high quality technical service. Specifically:

  • Performs moderate and high complexity testing procedures as outlined in the procedure manual. Notifies supervisor (or other designated personnel) of changes or problems with procedures.
  • Maintains sample identification throughout testing process. Takes appropriate action to prevent DNA contamination and sample switches.
  • Adheres to the laboratory's quality control (QC) procedures to ensure all QC criteria are met (including but not limited to documenting QC data, documenting open/exp. date on QC material, documenting corrective action when QC falls outside allowable limits).
  • Successfully prepares reagents, control materials and other products used in testing as required.
  • Performs and documents required analyzer maintenance in a timely fashion. Notifies supervisor/designee of any problematic issue.
  • Performs required proficiency testing in the same manner as patient samples.
  • Identifies problems which may affect test performance or test results (including but not limited to testing errors and reporting errors). Properly documents problems / resolutions on appropriate Problem Resolution form. Notifies supervisor/designee to ensure corrective action is taken immediately.
  • Adheres to established laboratory policies in handling hazardous substances (OSHA standards).
  • Develops proficiency in the use of the laboratory information system (LIS) including but not limited to DNA analysis programs, instrument software systems and other software systems as needed. May assist in verifying HLA in UNET.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
