As a Software Application Engineer, you will act as a key technical resource within the Software Development Team. Your primary function will be the enhancement, configuration, deployment and support of our client's suite of applications and supporting tools.
Developing an in-depth understanding of our client's research products and how they are developed, deployed and supported, you will act as the technical lead for the Development Team. In this role, you will keep abreast of new and useful technologies and highlight these to other Developers, helping them understand how and where they apply.
You'll play a hands-on role in development activities, building re-useable tools and services that will optimize the security and reliability of our client's systems. You'll also work closely with Product Owners and the Scrum Master on projects that require an understanding of system requirements and develop tools that meet the demands of the stakeholders.
To be considered, you must have at least four years' professional business application development experience which includes experience and expertise in the following:
- Software system design, UI and/or UX
- Java, C#, ASP.NET, PHP, PERL, Python
- The development of secure applications and high availability systems
- Underlying server technologies to support development and support of web based applications
- Linux, Apache, MySQL, Subversion, Git
Accountable and autonomous, as a Software Application Engineer, you must possess excellent problem solving, communication and decision making skills and the ability to influence and develop others.
Experience of any of the following would be beneficial to your application:
JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Objective C, NoSQL.
