Job Description
Summary:
Consistent with the Christian mission and Hope for Life Vision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Group Vice President, the Executive Director is responsible for day-to-day operations of the YMCA and must balance fiscal responsibility, staff development/motivation, quality program delivery and facility upkeep, cleanliness, and safety to experience success.
Qualifications
Education / Experience Required:
Minimum 21 years of age
Four year college degree in a related field
Three to five years experience in a director-level YMCA position
Certifications Required:
Pre-hire: complete YMCA of Middle TN application for employment, new hire packet, Praesidium Child Abuse Detection/Prevention training and BBP.
Before start of 1st shift: complete CPR Pro w/ AED, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen
YMCA Organizational Leader certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to inspire and motivate staff members.
Ability to create a culture of serving members and staff within the Centers.
Ability to analyze complex information, and to define and solve problems.
Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, and not for profit sector employment policies and procedures.
Knowledge of compensation administration principles and procedures; mathematical skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, required.
Essential Functions
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility; implement character development and the YMCA core values in all programs and all aspects of Center operations.
Represent the YMCA and maintain appropriate relationships with area organizations, community leaders and businesses.
Ensure the implementation of Hope for Life key components.
Coordinate the development and management of Center programs to meet the needs of the community and achieve Association operating objectives.
Ensure outstanding customer/member service.
Ensure all safety procedures are followed in accordance with YMCA of Middle TN policy and all local, state & federal laws.
Serve as a leader in the annual giving campaign and other fundraising initiatives; direct staff and volunteers on implementation of membership campaigns.
Develop, manage, and monitor the Center operating budget and meet or exceed budget targets.
Direct staff and volunteers in the development of program and membership enrollment strategies.
Coordinate staff and volunteer development, including recruitment, team building, training, evaluation, recognition, termination, etc.
Participate in special events, activities and meetings, including staff meetings, trainings, and assigned committees as requested.
Ensure compliance with Association policies and procedures.
Coordinate management and maintenance of the facility and equipment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
