Summary:
Perform a wide-variety of simple to moderately complex material handling duties, safely receives, stores, counts, loads, unloads, and distributes chemicals, materials, tools, equipment, and miscellaneous products as assigned to service. Work involves a wide variety of simple and routine to moderately complex duties, frequently working with others and receiving close direction from warehouse personnel and supervisors to provide prompt attention and assistance.
Responsibilities:
Receives and listens to oral instructions to complete/ fulfill production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed referring unusual cases to supervisor.
Under direction of supervisor or other warehouse personnel load and unload materials to and from designated storage areas, such as racks and shelves, or vehicles, such as trucks. Using a powered industrial truck (fork lift), other approved material moving device or by hand conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
As needed or requested fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to customers and company drivers. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, if necessary, and/or conveys orders to packing station, shipping area, customer's vehicle, or company delivery vehicle. As needed or directed updates computer system to maintain inventory records.
Using established company procedures, compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications, marks materials with identifying information, as required. Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Count items for distribution to ensure conformance to company inventory standard.
Prepares parcels for mailing.
Additional Duties:
Maintain work area and warehouse in a clean and orderly fashion.
Drives company vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to customer location or to pick up items from several locations for future distribution.
Detect and report defective material, improper operation, and unusual conditions to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety regulations and practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
High School Diploma or GED required
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong communication skills
Candidate must be organized and able to prioritize
