Investment Operations Assistant /Back-Up Receptionist - Part-Time
General Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Investment Operations Assistant are to process investment related requests. Provide office, data entry and service administrative support for the investment operations by following acceptable procedures. Provide back-up receptionist duties.
Specific responsibilities include but will not be limited to:
Investment Operations Assistant:
Assigned specific duties within the Northwestern Mutual Investment Services (NMIS) department that are needed to be completed within a timely manner.
Expected to learn products specific to the department/position.
Expected to learn and communicate processes and procedures; and the reasoning behind them.
Be a resource for agents and assistants (especially in the areas that their job duties fall).
Daily coverage of the Front Desk to allow for lunch break for the Full-time receptionist

E-file orders and checks
E-file incoming correspondence

Mail Opening

Back-Up Receptionist:

Provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks.
Answers telephone and directs caller to the appropriate associate.
Greets and directs visitors to the company.
Takes and retrieves messages/faxes for various personnel.
Provides callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax number, company website and other related information.
Receive and forwards incoming mail and packages.
Mail distribution.
Requisition of supplies.


Qualifications
One to three years of securities or insurance industry preferred.
High school degree required, some college preferred.
Computer experience required.
Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy in handling detailed work.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
Above average math and data entry skills.
Ability to adapt to change, and identify process improvements.
Client/customer focused.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
