Overview
The Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction team publishes a broad range of genres including romance, suspense, historical, Amish, Southern fiction, women's fiction, and young adult. We also publish a mix of traditional Christian fiction and titles from a Christian worldview, including such authors as Terri Blackstock, Colleen Coble, Charles Martin, Rachel Hauck, and Mary Weber.
Our ideal Marketing Associate candidate is a team player with a heart for service who is passionate about helping our authors reach their audience through digital media in the most effective and efficient way. We work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, and the Marketing Associate will interact daily with authors and agents and with our larger marketing, editorial, and sales teams.

The primary responsibilities of the Marketing Associate (Digital) include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:
In consultation with the title marketers, execute digital marketing activity for the HCCP Fiction team across all channels including support for online advertising activities, promotional emails, and social media outreach to target audiences.
Manage creation of digital marketing assets (online ads, emails, web pages, graphics, memes, etc.) for internal and external email lists, blogs, affiliates, paid search, and social media marketing
Working with the broader marketing team, develop and execute strategies to grow existing HCCP Fiction email lists; engage the recipients with meaningful content provided by the marketing team; monitor and track success (e.g. open rates, click-through rates, etc.)
Renovate the TNZFiction.com website and then oversee its maintenance and continued development
Monitor reporting on website traffic with Google Analytics along with recommendations for continued improvement to our various marketing goals (email registration, conversion, awareness, etc.)
Under the direction of the Senior Marketing Director, develop and support strategies and tactics for SEO
Develop and execute ebook promotional strategy in collaboration with Digital Sales team. Be the point of contact with authors regarding ebook promotions.
Under the direction of the Senior Marketing Director, develop and execute multi-title programmatic digital marketing campaigns.
Identify online media outlets, execute media buy, setup target audiences, budgets, and bids.
Monitor and track progress of digital ad campaigns and make real-time adjustments.
Serve as a best practices resource for digital tactics and direct-response marketing, keeping abreast of emerging technologies and online/social/email successes; report findings and all campaign results to marketing
Measure success, trends, and ROI of marketing initiatives.
Growth role that will eventually have full marketing plan responsibility for a percentage of HCCP Fiction titles.
Perform other support functions of the HCCP Marketing department as needed, help with mailings, processing invoices, providing support for sales conference and trade shows, etc.
Qualifications
Desired candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, education and skills:
Knowledge/Work
Experience: 3
years digital marketing experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or related discipline PR preferred
Industry Knowledge: Strong interest in and basic understanding of commercial fiction, marketing, book publishing preferred
Skills:
Experience with email marketing software and tools
Experience using Google Analytics or other leading web analytics tools
Experience with website content management systems
SEO knowledge
Strong communication, project management, and analytical skills
Proven track record of managing multiple deadline-driven projects with completion on time, on brand, and on budget
Excellent writing skills
