Business Analyst II (IT)

Position Purpose
The Business Analyst II assists the R&D staff in understanding the organization's operational for both automated and manual solutions to business systems and procedures of moderate scope. The Business Analyst is involved in planning, organizing and conducting detailed analytical studies to define problems, identify deficiencies and improve solutions which impact the organization's effectiveness, and provide the basis for issue resolution. The Business Analyst is responsible for executing the system definition and design processes within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). They collaborate with users to define business requirements for system enhancements and new functionalities to achieve process improvements.
Principal Accountabilities
Under general supervision:
Assists or gathers requirements using a variety of basic techniques, such as interviews, surveys, and historical data.
For semi-complex requests/projects, performs analysis of business and user needs, constructs requirements documentation, translates requirements into proper system requirement specifications, and reviews requirements and specifications with internal and external stakeholders
Defines quality attributes and/or develops basic test scenarios to support unit and functional testing
Manages expectations and effectively communicates to team members, stakeholders, as well as internal IT stakeholders and leaders
Understands with legal aspects of information systems, such as HIPAA, SOX, PHI, Medicare Fraud, Waste and Abuse
Applies general industry and regulatory compliance knowledge to the benefit of the business
As directed, the BA will participate in an agile development team, ensuring features and functionality requested by users align with business goals for the product, particularly as goals and products evolve over time, as well as ensuring the right information is available to the engineering teams, with the right amount of detail, and at the right time
Conducts requirements peer reviews; evaluating clarity, conciseness, comprehensiveness, and appropriateness of specifications
Supports process improvement initiatives
RequirementsEducation and Experience
Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

years of professional experience in a technical and analytical, preferably healthcare, role
Required Knowledge and Skill
Understanding and experience with technical systems
Ability to identify and understand the business problem and the impact of the proposed solution on the operations of the organization
In depth knowledge of or skills in programming and database languages
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to interact with internal staff at all levels
Excellent oral and written skills in order to effectively communicate with customers and internal staff
Understanding of the healthcare industry and the information exchange between providers, clearinghouses, payers and employers
Ability to responsibly manage time

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
