Responsibilities:
Responsible to the Director for the management and upkeep of the physical plant.
Programs operate with the understanding that the Federal or State Contracting Authority and/or Executive Management has the right to modify their operating standards, to include staffing requirements and qualifications, as needed, to ensure quality and continuation of services.

Maintains and Repairs:
This may include, but is not limited to:
painting; building, repairing, and/or installing counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, etc; installing glass; replacing damaged ceiling tile, floor tile, and wall coverings; installing items such as window shades, blinds, curtain rods, wall fans, and door locks.
If licensed then the scope of work will also include electrical and mechanical system upkeeps and repairs.
For installations and repair services that require licensing then the maintenance worker will coordinate work services with a local certified vendor.
Conducts Regular Landscaping Details and Maintenance of Grounds:
To include, but not limited to:
mowing, trimming, raking, upkeep of lawn sprinklers, trees, flowers, shrubs, etc.
Conducts Regular Preventive Maintenance:
while in a facility to ensure safety, operation, or aesthetics of that facility; notifies supervisor or Director of the repair that needs additional attention; maintains records of required routine maintenance.
Complies with all Applicable OSHA regulations:
while conducting all maintenance work that involves the use of tools, solvents, paints, or other chemicals.
All regulations pertaining to the work performed on or around electricity must also be within current government safety guidelines, permits, and licensing.
Maintains Working Knowledge of all Procedures and Policies:
Physical Plant Manual and Chapters 3-8 of the facilities Operations Manual; Emergency Drills, Life Safety, Facility Sanitation, and Unusual Occurrence Procedures.
Work Schedule:
Works required shifts and hours.
Attends and participates in all required appointments/meetings on-site, within the community, in the court system, or at other business-related locations.

Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least two years of paid general maintenance experience, is preferred.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications and Licenses - Obtain CPR and First Aid Certification, Defensive Driving Certification during initial orientation.
Retains those certifications throughout employment and possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no restrictions which would prevent and/or prohibit the ability to perform job duties, as required Computer Skills/Office Equipment/General Maintenance - A proficient knowledge of the most current version of Windows or XP operating systems, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
Understanding basic PC concepts (files, file paths, copying, pasting, deleting, and moving files) is preferred.
Common office machinery includes, but is not limited to a calculator, telephone, fax, copier Other Requirements - The ability to pass criminal background checks.
The ability to travel overnight when required.
The employee must have reliable transportation to meet the requirements of this position.
The use of the employee's personal vehicle may include, but is not limited to, travel to and from meetings and businesses.
Other Skills - Within your Introductory Period you must become proficient with the following program-specific equipment:
Security and Fire System.
You will also be required to become proficient with future equipment applications as they are introduced and incorporated into our Maintenance Program Operations.

The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate with the exception of life safety alarms which are sounded during monthly emergency drills and periodic systems inspections.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and the occasional risk of electrical shock.
