The primary function of this role is to help develop and distribute content to communicate the legislative work and accomplishments of members of the Tennessee House Republican Caucus.
From creating news releases, writing speeches, developing talking points, and coordinating interviews with the media, this role offers a unique opportunity to experience many different aspects of political communications.
The position works at the direction of the House Majority Leader and Republican Press Secretary.
Applicants should have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and possess strong organizational skills.
The ability to work with a wide range of individuals and handle multiple projects at once on a deadline is key to success in this role.
A background in journalism or related field is preferred.
Responsibilities and Duties Responsibilities and duties for this role are centered around developing content related to the Caucus.
They include:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to proofread effectively.
Prepare speeches, newsletters, editorials, press releases, talking points and statements Work with the press secretary to write weekly summaries of legislative news and events for mass distribution to media from members Advise members on public relations matters Coordinates and manage press conferences Prepare speeches, newsletters, editorials, press releases, talking points and statements Help maintain caucus website Produce content for caucus social media Work with caucus team to prepare end-of-year projects Act as a liaison between caucus members and media Qualifications and Skills A background in journalism or related field is preferred.
This role is very writing intensive.
Demonstrated writing skills are a requirement for this position.
The ideal candidate would also have skills in digital media/marketing, photography and/or website design preferred.
State political or legislative experience preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
