Experienced Estimator Position

The Estimator assumes responsibility for comprehensive project cost estimation, project scheduling, and strategic planning. Collaborating closely with clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, the Estimator strategizes cost components for diverse projects. This role involves meticulous analysis of construction documents, specifications, proposals, and other relevant documentation to formulate precise time, cost, and labor estimates for projects. Key duties include:

Essential Job Requirements:


  • Generating detailed cost estimates through thorough examination of plans and specifications, as well as conducting quantity take-offs for designated projects.
  • Demonstrating comprehension of contractual terms and conditions.
  • Formulating and presenting conceptual estimates using design documents and on-screen take-off and estimating software.
  • Cultivating interest among subcontractors/vendors when required and overseeing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
  • Assessing subcontractors and vendors to ensure qualification.
  • Compiling project budgets and constructing critical path job schedules.
  • Ensuring provision of accurate documentation to site personnel.
  • Exemplifying strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required Education:


  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Construction Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Required
Experience:


  • 5 years' experience in Estimating within Heavy Civil Construction.
  • Essential experience in Municipal, County, and DOT Roadway Construction.
  • Additional experience in Underground Utility Construction (storm, sewer, water) is advantageous.
  • Site Development experience, particularly in mass grading, earthworks, and site works, is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including construction software, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Proficient in mathematics and possess strong analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with estimating software.
  • Ability to create detailed budgets and materials lists with costs.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and navigating plans and specifications.
  • Competency in utilizing various office machines and blueprint printers.
  • Maintain professionalism under pressure to meet aggressive deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Highly organized with the capability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Uphold confidentiality.
  • Able to work in field locations, requiring extensive walking and exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Physically capable of lifting 20-25 lbs. regularly.
  • Comfortable working in both office and field environments amidst a fast-paced setting.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
