The AIG Life and Retirement Consumer Affairs Manager is responsible for overseeing ongoing activities regarding customer grievances and related regulatory inquiries for a team of AIG Life and Retirement Consumer Affairs Analysts working in Nashville, Tennessee. This person will report to the Director of AIG Life and Retirement Consumer Affairs.
Performance Objectives:
Supervise the work of staff located in Nashville responsible for investigating and providing responses to customer grievances regarding AIG Life and Retirement insurance products and related regulatory inquiries.
Ensure all complaints and inquiries are properly logged, tracked, investigated and resolved in a timely fashion and in accordance with applicable legal requirements and company policy.
Identify individual complaints and inquires that present potentially significant regulatory and compliance issues for escalation to senior management within compliance and individual business units prior to resolution.
Interact with state insurance regulators regarding customer complaints.
Analyze customer complaint data to identify significant trends, including emerging regulatory and compliance issues.
Continuously review existing processes and controls to identify potential enhancements. The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the life insurance industry; Prior experience in compliance, operations, risk management, audit, or claims is strongly preferred.
The ideal person for this role should have prior managerial experience and significant knowledge and understanding of the life insurance industry. Candidates will also be expected to possess the following professional and personal attributes:
FINRA General Securities Principal - Series 24 and/or FINRA Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Limited Principal - Series 26 (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to influence and work effectively within a highly-matrixed organization with employees at all levels.
Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Ability to confront conflict and difficult issues in a professional, assertive and proactive manner.
Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
Excellent organizational, writing, verbal and presentation skills.
A strong education including an undergraduate degree; graduate degrees in relevant areas of study preferred. American International Group, Inc. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
