## Description
Perform administrative and budget related duties of a complex and confidential nature in support of departmental, division or other organization unit activities, which requires a thorough knowledge of University policies and procedures. May perform complex secretarial duties.
Key Functions and Expected Performances:
1. Manage budgetary allocations through fiscal year
1. Recommending allocation of funds for purposes of forecasting
2. Presenting recommended budget for next fiscal year
3. Overseeing grant administration for multiple grants
4. Representing Vanderbilt University to funding agencies
5. Tracking and monitoring direct and indirect costs in accordance with approved budget and funding agencies'' requirements
2. Project management
1. Implementing plans to achieve defined departmental goals and objectives
2. Independently defining and developing parameters and desired outcomes of database queries, office procedures, etc.
3. Compiling data, conducting research assignments and summarizing findings according to general instruction
4. Analyzing and reporting findings relating to daily operations
5. Coordinating space and facilities planning
3. Coordinate personnel-related matters
1. Making hiring decisions and salary recommendations for direct reports
2. Monitoring equity by reviewing salaries on a regular basis
3. Coordinating and facilitating performance development annually or as needed
4. Handling personnel issues, and confidential files
4. Supervise staff
1. Assigning and reviewing work of varying degrees of complexity, exercising independent judgment
2. Providing and documenting performance feedback
3. Understanding FLSA, FMLA, etc. and communicating same to staff
## Basic Qualifications
Job requires Associates and 3 years of experience or the equivalent.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
