The Judge Group is seeking a degreed Transportation Manager for a major food distribution center in Nashville, TN. The qualified individual will reduce overall store delivery expense while improving on-time delivery service to the customer.
Responsibilities:
Reports operational metrics related to store delivery execution, on-time service, and fleet efficiency
Supports removal of obstacles in the way of achieving results and establishes a sense of urgency to act decisively and solve problems
Provides an efficient and complete store delivery route plan to the distribution center, manufacturing plant and their respective service fleet in the required timeframe
Conducts timely validity checks and GAP analysis between actual delivery results and store delivery route plan
Collaborates with Operations to deliver a more accurate route plan moving forward
Implements supply chain process and store delivery performance improvement initiatives
Updates and maintains various transportation management systems
Develops and implement work schedules
Communicates with various customers of the company including supply chain management, procurement, distribution centers, transportation providers and suppliers
Supervises and coaches direct reports in the performance of their duties
Completes performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
3 plus years of transportation experience in a logistics/transportation environment
2 plus years' experience leading and managing a team of transportation professionals with proven results
Thorough understanding of transportation management systems specifically in route optimization planning in a grocery retail environment
Proven team oriented leadership experience in achieving specific goals
Experience in project management
Strong verbal and written communication skills
General computer skills with proficiency Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
General knowledge of financial or statistical concepts as related to budgeting and reporting
Salary: $80,000-$95,000
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
