JOB PURPOSE:
The Risk Process Senior Analyst will work cross-functionally with Program Management, IT, Customer Care, and Legal/Regulatory to create and develop programs that would mitigate fraudulent claims. This position will drive change to the claims management systems and processes with the purpose of managing risk, managing average claims costs and reducing claimant abuse in order to meet or exceed underwriting profit goals.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Manage, with oversight, projects from planning through post implementation evaluation that are geared towards mitigating fraudulent claims
Utilize cross-functional teams to identify claimant abuse and design/ lead the implementation of counter measures that impact multiple functions across the company
Develop claims processing systems that adhere to policy terms and conditions
Act as a liaison to other Asurion departments and serve as Program Management representative on cross functional project / initiative teams
Continually review cross carrier processes to identify efficiency improvements and possible anti-fraud opportunities
Partner with CARE, TLC, IT and Client Services to gain support, resources and champions for initiatives aimed at reducing risk and claimant abuse
Create financial analysis and models for assessing initiative impacts pre/post implementation
Objectively evaluate systems and processes to develop recommendations for change with a focus on claims costs and reducing abusive claims

EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
2 years' experience in Insurance, Operations, or Risk Management
Software development skills and experience
Project management skills and experience
Process design skills and experience
Experience using Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS SharePoint, MS Project, etc)
TRAVEL:
This position requires travel of approximately 5% to 10% of the time.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
This position will require that you hold a valid insurance license. Failure to pass the insurance license exam or an inability to obtain or maintain the required license(s) will result in forfeiture of the position. If you are not currently licensed, but have taken and failed the insurance licensing exam or have otherwise been unable to complete the licensing application process you will not be considered for this position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
This position requires the ability to read, write, analyze and interpret complex instructions, correspondence, legal documents, financial reports and/or technical documents. This position also requires the ability to respond effectively to clients, employees and management and handle sensitive and/or confidential communications. This position requires a high level of skill in both oral and written communication and the ability to effectively present ideas and information.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and interpret complex numbers, financial data and reports. This position requires the ability to apply such concepts to create reports and financial records and present them effectively. This position must be able to develop complex formulas, to perform needed calculations and to demonstrate how data was derived.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position is in a fast pace setting which requires energy and stamina. This position requires periods of standing, walking and sitting for a minimum of 8 hours per day. This position requires some overtime and the ability to work all shifts. This position also requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus visually. This position requires eye-hand coordination and the ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel and to reach or grasp. This position is in a community, high traffic area, working in close proximity to others.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
