ABOUT THE COMPANY
My client is a growing and dynamic organization in the Property Management industry located in Nashville; they are looking to hire a Property Staff Accountant. The company has been around since the 1950s and offers stability and growth.
Responsibilities of the Property Staff Accountant include:
Bank Reconciliations
Ensures the accuracy of the financial information for the reporting period
Makes necessary journal entries and accruals
Weekly review of Accounts Payable sessions
Assists with monthly funding requests as needed
Process monthly sales tax reconciliation for required properties
Enters the tenant office leases into MRI, real estate software system
Ensures the accuracy of the Suite No, Building, Square Footage, Begin/End Dates in MRI
Monitors, Tracks, Reviews and Invoices Base Rent, Additional Rent, Late Fees, and any other financial obligation of the tenant
CPI, Step, Late Fees, Tenant Improvements, Etc
Tenant Improvement Invoicing is supported by the Construction Department
Ensures the accuracy of the total building and a proper representation of the occupancy, size, and vacancies.
Invoices tenants in a timely fashion
Reviews, approves, and posts the daily cash receipts provided by the AR Specialist.
Ensures the accuracy of the cash receipt application
Reviews scanned batches
Scanning of completed batches as needed
Generates weekly AR Reports to Property Management
Generates monthly late and default letters
Notifies Property Management when certain action needs to be taken in accordance with Client's policies and procedures.
Responsible for the monthly submission of reports to Property Management and Client
Answers any questions pertaining to the accounting of the financial statements
Directly Represents the Accounting Function of the property management firm

Experience for the Property Staff Accountant include:
Bachelor's Degree or Accounting related experience of 2+ years
Leasing related experience a plus
Advanced Excel Skills
MRI real estate software experience preferred


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
