Vice President of Sales

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible for new business development, sales management, sales planning, sales revenues, overseeing sales staff and contract negotiation. In addition, works with other managers on product, marketing and proposal development.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales and Personnel Management:
Manage new market and product development activities.
Prepare sales and work with Marketing Manager on Marketing Plan.
Recruit candidates for sales and marketing positions.
Guide, assist and train the sales staff regarding the company's products and services.
Develop effective lead generation and prospecting program to assist sales staff.
Determine key staff promotions, position changes, or terminations.
Conduct regular performance reviews and establish individual development plans
Ensure high levels of motivation, morale and productivity.
Design and implement sales compensation and recognition programs.

Financial Performance

Review monthly sales results and new sales projections.
Forecast sales performance on a regular basis.
Review all proposed capital budget expenditures for the Sales Department.
Review and recommend proposed pricing through collaboration with other leaders.
Mark recommendations for profit improvement actions.
Review and approve T&E expense reports.
Recommend changes to T&E and other corporate financial policies as appropriate.


Building Relationships

Develop strong relationship with all subordinates.
Develop good working relationship with all team members
Build and enhance relationships with key clients and prospects and enhance relationships with our marketing partners.
Assure that supplier relationships are strong and vendors are treated fairly.
Play a part in developing the company's overall strategic direction and focus.
Other projects and duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


College or Master's Degree in related field (marketing, finance or management) and a minimum of 10 years experience in sales management.
Knowledge of office furniture dealership, hospitality or retail industries preferred but not required.
Must have extensive sales and marketing background.
Must have a proven track record of sales and management success.
Must possess leadership qualities.
Must have the ability to identify, train and motivate sales people.
Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must have good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and to prioritize work.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to travel as required by the position
Handle the stress of a fast-paced position.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
