The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing data and preparing exhibits and text for loss probability studies, actuarial reserve analyses and for other actuarial studies as assigned by unit manager.
Responsibilities:
Takes responsibility for data organization and summarization for input to LPS and Actuarial studies, including preparation of development triangles, etc.
Takes responsibility for accuracy of numerical calculations, and learns to identify data problems in the analysis
Prepares exhibits including initial selections of factors for standard LPS and actuarial studies
Assist in drafting text for studies based on text guidelines and manager's input provided
Assists in exhibit calculations for larger projects and general data collection and maintenance projects as assigned
Supplements actuarial skills by preparing for and passing Casualty Actuarial Society examinations
Qualifications:
This is the first actuarial position for individuals possessing at least the following job qualifications and requirements. In this position, the analyst will develop necessary actuarial skills while pursuing efforts to obtain a working knowledge of basic insurance concepts.
A bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics or similar discipline. Preference will be given to individuals with CAS Exams passed.
Willingness and ability to actively pursue at least an ACAS professional designation
Strong computer skills, preference will be given to individual with skill in Excel spreadsheet software
Strong oral and good written communication skills
Professional appearance, manners, and ethics becoming of a representative of ARMS
