Manage a team of underwriters and case management staff including management of a case management supervisor.
Ability to underwrite complex applications with the ability to evaluate and take final action in an independent manner within approval authority guidelines with the ability to achieve a minimum approval authority of $5 million.
15 years of life underwriting experience with demonstrated competence and experience handling large face amount cases
FLMI, FALU or CLU designation
Prior Management experience and proven ability to supervise a staff
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of company and department procedures, policy provisions, compliance regulations and insurance law
Able to provide guidance to the field force and home office staff regarding underwriting problems and requirements
Demonstrate proficiency in financial underwriting
Must be able to consult with reinsurance companies on those more complex cases where reinsurance is required. American International Group, Inc.
