Director of Communications


Job Description: Our client is seeking an exceptional individual to provide communication and messaging for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Board of Directors, and the organization. This position is responsible for developing and guiding the strategy for all communications including website, social media, strategic public relations and media inquiries. Assists in event planning and community outreach to consistently articulate our client's mission, vision and values. Responsible for planning, developing and implementing all communications plans and activities, both external and internal. Works closely with Chief Executive Officer, leadership group and marketing unit on strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Develop and execute internal and external communication strategies consistent with the organizational culture that expresses organization 's vision, values and thought leadership
Develop and implement strategies to effectively communicate with and engage the entire workforce.
Develops and implements public relations strategy for CEO.
Develop and implement strategy to effectively communicate with and engage our customer and stakeholder groups
Manage the communication's budget
Manage media relations activities including serving as Public Information Officer, developing messages, conduct media monitoring
Positively represent the company at external/internal function
Build and retain relationships with industry publications contacts
Identify and manage speaking engagements for Chief Executive Officer, sponsorship opportunities and participation in industry conferences.
Develops strategic messaging in response to media inquiries about the work the organization is conducting and directs appropriate responders to press inquiries
Conducts outreach to media and third party advocates/influencers
Ensures information disseminated to employees, the media and other key audiences is timely, accurate and reflects the organization's commitment to quality
Directs company staff participation in community related special events and programs. Acts as primary Community Relations contact.
Develops and maintains proactive community involvement plan for organization and oversee Volunteer Program
In partnership with the Marketing Manager develop promotional budget for sponsorships, giveaways, company promotional items, etc. to be approved by the Chief Executive Officer.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S) from a four year college or university Preferably in communications, public relations, journalism or English)
Minimum of 3 years of related experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism and social media.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and basic office equipment such as a computer, printer, fax machine, adding machine, copier and scanner.
Exceptional writing and communication skills are required for this role
Detail orientation and strong organizational skills are essential in this position
Highly-developed interpersonal skills with the capacity to cooperate and build constructive relationships at all levels of interaction, both internal and external.
Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives

Well versed in all social media communication networks.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
