Summary:
The Senior Program Manager will be responsible to plan, initiate, and manage multiple corporate programs. In addition the Senior Program Manager will be required to lead and guide the work a team of technical employees to ensure the team is meeting customer goals. The Program Manager will plan project stages, assess business implications for each stage and monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Lead the Program teams through all phases of the software development life cycle
Organize skills including planning, scheduling, documenting, and action item tracking
Manage program financials
Track program progress and conduct status meetings with all team members
Communicate the customer's goals and represent the customer's interests to the program teams
Effectively interact with other departments to gather, monitor and analyze performance data
Responsible for all customer communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on customer deliverables and revenue
Provide regular project status reports, addresses issues and problems as appropriate
Ensure that all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met, and projects are profitable
Pursue opportunities for product growth and new business
Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
6 years of experience performing in a Program Manager
5 years working on projects for the Federal Government environment
3 years of experience developing and managing a program budget
Experience as a Program Manager in planning, directing, and managing complex projects including manpower utilization, procurement, training, problem resolution, employee relations (including subcontractors), cost, budget, and managing to milestones
Experience as a PM managing FFP, CPFF, CR and T&M task orders in the Federal Government or in a Technology Department
Above average knowledge using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook and MS Project)
Exceptional ability to communicate through verbal and written communications to build relationships internally and externally
Prior experience working on heavily technical programs with the ability to communicate and understand technical information
Exceptional skills in Systems Engineering with experience leading and collaborating a range of organizations and teams
Experience working in a software environment is strongly preferred
Very experienced in directing customer interaction when scoping new product capabilities
Knowledge in engagement of full product life cycle; customer needs, design, development, testing, deployment, support
Prior experience managing resources and mentoring team members
Advanced knowledge of program management techniques
Advanced ability to lead a project using own initiative and working as part of a team
Advanced ability to create and maintain accurate / accessible and organized documentation
Ability to travel several times a month
Ability to obtain Department of Defense Security Clearance
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Work performed in an office environment, customer facility or customer aircrafts
Working with computers, and other computer components
Ability to independently lift 25 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders and into small spaces
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse
Required to sit for long periods of time
