A. Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes executing basic to moderately complex engineering practices, methods and procedures to develop designs, material quantities, layouts, sketches, details; developing electrical and/or mechanical; perform design calculations for the mechanical and electrical design features of Corps of Engineers projects which include features of hydropower, navigation, recreation, flood control and military projects. This definition is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-5); OR B. Some federal jobs allow substitution of education for experience in order to qualify. For this grade level, there is no substitution of education for experience. To qualify at the GS-7:
A. Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includesexecuting AND reviewing engineering practices, methods and procedures to develop designs, material quantities, layouts, sketches, details; developing electrical and/or mechanical; performing design calculations for the mechanical and electrical design features of Corps of Engineers projects which include features of hydropower, navigation, recreation, flood control and military projects; conducts site investigations as required to collect data for development of and compliance with design. This definition is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6); OR B. Some federal jobs allow substitution of education for experience in order to qualify. For this grade level, there is no substitution of education for experience. To qualify at the GS-8:

Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes executing AND reviewing complex engineering practices, methods and procedures to develop designs, material quantities, layouts, sketches, details; developing electrical and/or mechanical; perform design calculations for the mechanical and electrical design features of Corps of Engineers projects which include features of hydropower, navigation, recreation, flood control and military projects; conducting site investigations as required to collect data for development of and compliance with design; developing detailed designs, plans, specifications, material quantities, layouts, and sketches utilizing specialized CADD systems. This definition is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-7); OR B. Some federal jobs allow substitution of education for experience in order to qualify. For this grade level, there is no substitution of education for experience. To qualify at the GS-9:
A. Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes executing AND reviewing design calculations for the mechanical and electrical design features of Corps of Engineers projects which include features of hydropower, navigation, recreation, flood control and military projects; developing sketches, layouts, detailed designs and working drawings of project features; preparing preliminary and final drawings of engineering and architectural projects utilizing a computer aided drafting and design systems (CADD); computing dimensions, determines placement, space and clearance requirements, and selects and develops most advantageous views; reviewing completed drawings for completeness, correctness and adequacy of drafting work. . This definition is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-8); OR B. Some federal jobs allow substitution of education for experience in order to qualify. For this grade level, there is no substitution of education for experience. Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent:
Must have 52 weeks at the GS-05 for the GS-06 grade level Must have 52 weeks at the GS-06 for the GS-07 grade level Must have 52 weeks at the GS-07 for the GS-08 grade level Must have 52 weeks at the GS-08 for the GS-09 grade level Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion during site visits, such as long periods of standing during site investigations; walking over rough, uneven, rocky, or slippery surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, climbing during power plant and navigational lock inspections; recurring lifting or moving of light to moderately heavy items weighing less than 50 pounds, such as drafting equipment, designs, plans and specifications, etc.; and regular visits to construction or other outdoor sites. Work Environment:
Majority of work will be in an office environment, but regular trips to project sites will be required. Site visits will require exposure to dust, noise, engine exhaust fumes, and uncovered machinery moving parts. Requires observance of all safety rules, regulations, and directives applicable to the work assignments. The site work environment will require the employee to stay alert and take special safety precautions including wearing special protective items of clothing.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
