Registered Nurse ( Maternity Care Coordinator)

The MCC functions as a liaison and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and performing a wide range of clinical, administrative, program, and technical functions to support quality case management of gender-specific services for Veterans. The MCC works directly with the patients, VA staff, Non-VA care providers and organizations, OB/GYN providers and specialists, and the Women Veterans Program Manager to achieve seamless care, facilitate patient satisfaction, reduce duplication of services or delay of care, and monitor quality of care and services received. The coordinator is responsible and accountable for the provision of direct and indirect care and for the delivery of quality care to a culturally diverse Veteran population. The coordinator possesses the knowledge and skills to effectively apply all aspects of the clinical process with collaborative, interdisciplinary, evidence-based practice, which will enable effective care coordination and implementation of health promotion and disease prevention practices. The functions of the Maternity Care Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
Coordinating and tracking gender-specific care (i.e. maternity care, breast care/mammography, gynecological coordination, etc.) of patients throughout all aspects of the medical center, including Community Based Outpatient Clinics, as well as community vendors and/or agencies. Liaison, coordinator, and monitors outcomes and statistics . Educate clinical staff about Maternity care (outreach / in-reach) Educate and monitor emergency care while being available via telephone or VVC for triage urgent care needs Providing continuity of care, with one point of contact, for VA maternity coordination, while increasing quality of care Improve access to care, with on demand designated full time maternity coordinator availability via telephone, and VVC Provide High risk monitoring and for those who have unexpected pregnancy losses or an emergency Update clinical reminder screens and confirm prenatal vitamins provided Review medication management and pregnancy complication concerns Facilitate PACT establishment and follow up PACT appointment after birth Preferred
Experience:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. You must be able to perform work that requires regular and recurrent bending, lifting 30 pounds or more, stooping, climbing, twisting and/or bending, standing and/or walking almost constantly during the course of the day, reaching above the shoulder, stretching, and similar activities supporting various weights; walking and standing for 8 hours; frequent pushing medication carts, wheelchairs, litters, beds; use of fingers, both hands and both legs; emotional stability (you must be able to care for Veterans with various medical and psychiatric illnesses who at times may exhibit unpredictable behavior and may have the potential to be physically or verbally assaultive); near vision correctable at 13 to 16 / far vision correctable in one eye to 20/50 and to 20/100 in the other / both eyes required with ability to distinguish basic colors; hearing aid permitted in order to sufficiently hear various alarms and respond immediately.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
