Summary:
This position assists in developing, organizing, and conducting groups to provide education andtreatment for conditions and problems relating to drug and alcohol abuse.

Learns, uses andmodels principles of the What Works system through evidence-based practices in allinteractions with clients and other staff members.
Primary Duties and Responsibilitieso Coordinates substance abuse program at an office or group of offices using principles of theWhat Works system.
Schedules intakes, and group and individual sessions.
o Facilitates psycho-educational/behavior modification groups using principles of the WhatWorks system.
Documents participants' attendance, participation and progress.
o Meets regularly with participants' and documents participants' progress or regress.
o Notifies the customer or facility leadership of any problems/issues involving any program orparticipant services/treatment plan.
o Conducts initial interviews and participates in case conferences for each participant assignedto the caseload.
o Review the participant's services treatment plan with the program team.
o Establishes and maintains relationships with outside referral sources, such as in-patientsubstance abuse facilities or detox facilities.
o Identifies problem areas that may impact participants' ability to successfully completetreatment.
Guides participants to develop strategies to overcome obstacles to successcompletion of treatment.
o May advise Customer of participants' progress regularly or at completion of treatment.
o Ensures that participants' records are accurately completed in a timely manner.
o May maintain a specific substance abuse treatment case file for every program participant.
o Maintains knowledge of new developments in the field of substance abuse.
o Maintains a collegian relationship with other substance abuse professionals, programs, andassociations.
o Participates in related training for substance abuse.
o Performs other duties as assigned Job Requirements Minimum Requirementso High school diploma or equivalent; and a minimum of three (3) years of full-time experienceof counseling duties with a criminal justice or human services population in a substanceabuse programo Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LADAC), licensed by the Tennessee Departmentof Health Tennessee Code Annotated 68-24-606 is required.
o Ability to interact in a professional manner in both individual and group counseling settings.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills.
o Ability to work with a team of professionals and have the ability to implement team strategyapproaches to work assignments.
o Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
o Effective communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels.
o Problem solving ability.
o Good interpersonal skills.
o Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish) may be required as well as experience dealing withspecific cultural group.
o Problem solving ability.
o Good presentation, public speaking and facilitation skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
